Product overviewThe ROBOT-Drive joinery machining center combines a patented 6-axis robot unit with an overhead 5-axis saw/slot/marking device to deliver multi-sided processing in a single pass. Offered in modular basic versions, the machine is configurable and retrofittable to meet specific timber-construction tasks and throughput requirements.
Key features- Patented 6-axis ROBOT enabling six-side processing without part rotation
- Overhead 5-axis saw/slot/marking unit to increase throughput
- Tool changer capacity for up to 24 different tools
- Modular design for on-site adaptation and retrofitting
- Wide range of functional options: drilling units, slot cutter, labelling system and printer, conveyor for short parts, central lubrication, additional discharge screen
- Performance enhancement package (RD) available for increased speed and power
The three basic versions- ROBOT-Drive 450 — processing range 20 x 60 to 300 x 450 mm: base machine for carpentry workshops
- ROBOT-Drive 650 — processing range 20 x 60 to 300 x 650 mm: for larger cross-sections
- ROBOT-Drive 1300 — processing range 20 x 60 to 300 x 1,300 mm: for laminated beams and CLT requirements
Highlights- 6-axis technology = six-side processing in one pass
- Up to 24 tools in the tool changer for flexible machining
- Combined 5-axis saw/slot/mark unit for higher throughput
- Cross-sections from 20 x 60 mm up to 300 x 1,300 mm (depending on version)
- Customizable and retrofittable for changing production needs
Units and options- Standard ROBOT spindle: 12 kW, infinitely variable speed 0–12,000 rpm
- Optional high-performance water-cooled spindle: 29 kW, up to 15,000 rpm
- Overhead 5-axis saw/slot/marking unit: 13 kW drive rating
- Additional options: drilling units, slot cutter, labelling system & printer, conveyor for short parts, central lubrication, extra discharge screen
Automation & material handlingThe ROBOT-Drive supports automatic infeed with buffered stainless-steel slatband chains allowing multiple pieces to be staged for automatic feeding. A hydraulic lift table can be fitted upstream for continuous, level feeding. Finished parts are discharged onto plastic-coated timber outlets with ejection guides; chain elements assist heavy-part transport and cross conveyors can replace discharge points.
Chips and waste are removed via an integrated disposal channel with a cross-pusher; options include feeding to a chipper or inclined conveyor and offcut/chip separation. Installation can be on a concrete floor or over a pit beneath the processing zone to reduce handling height.
SoftwareHundegger CAMBIUM® 3D is the integrated programming and job-preparation platform. CAMBIUM offers timber-oriented interfaces, automated calculations, clear reports and standard IT interfaces, serving as a common platform for Hundegger machines and systems.
Processing examples & capabilitiesThe ROBOT-Drive performs trimming, grooving, drilling, milling, slotting and marking with high precision and surface quality up to visual grade. Typical operations—sawing, slotting, drilling, dovetail and other joinery—can be completed in a single run without part rotation.
