The Flood Washer from Hughes Equipment washes sand, dirt, and other debris from buoyant products such as leafy vegetables, green beans, apples, peaches, tomatoes, mushrooms in food processing operations. Produce is fed into the washer where spray nozzles cause agitation, cleansing the product and separating debris from the flow. The sloped infeed tank causes the debris to settle at the infeed where it can be removed easily. An optional air agitator produces a sine wave that rotates a round product or flattens a leafy product for more effective cleaning. A mesh wire discharge conveyor removes the produce from the water and onto a further cleansing by a water spray. The washer is available in different sizes.
