OverviewBKM 3.0 is an air purifier that combines UV-C germicidal radiation with photocatalysis to reduce viruses, bacteria and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in real indoor environments. The device has been validated in real-use conditions by the University of Padua and supported by an extended laboratory campaign. It is designed to contain UV-C radiation and to operate without producing ozone.
Key highlights- Eliminates up to 99.5% of pathogens (reported in validation studies)
- Treats viruses, bacteria and VOCs (examples: formaldehyde, benzene, toluene)
- Validated under real-use conditions by the University of Padua and supported by long-term laboratory testing
- Operates without producing ozone and incorporates measures to contain UV-C
- Combines photocatalysis with UV-C germicidal effect in a single, engineered unit
Technical information (summary)The unit couples photocatalytic technology with the germicidal action of UV-C lamps. Internal surfaces are specially shaped and patented to maximize UV-C illumination; a fine photocatalytic coating based on titania nanoparticles is applied to those surfaces. Laboratory experiments and mathematical modelling defined the optimal combination of purifier dimensions, coating amount, internal geometry and lamp placement to maximize pathogen and VOC abatement as air flows through the device.
