Product overview
The Access Portal cluster controller is a modular, plug-and-play access control controller designed for distributed installations. It simplifies cabling and expansion by allowing multiple units to be linked so power and communication are shared across the cluster.

Cluster capability
One cluster controller supports up to eight reader modules and can manage up to 16 readers in total. Reader modules can be positioned up to 150 metres from the controller to provide flexible reader placement across a site.

Operation modes
The controller can function as a stand-alone system with embedded software (no PC or license required) or be managed centrally from a server/workstation using the appropriate Access Portal software license. Enclosure options include a standard plastic housing or a secure metal enclosure for higher tamper resistance.

Traditional two door controller (iTRT)
The iTRT variant is a two-door controller that connects two readers. It supports full anti-passback (reader in/out) or operation for two doors using a reader-in and a push-button exit. The iTRT is compatible with both IXP and Access Portal systems.

Application Controller
The Application Controller extends the range for large sites and multi-building deployments. It offers high-capacity offline operation with an onboard transaction log of up to 1,000,000 transactions when the connection to the server is lost, and synchronises automatically once reconnected. An Application Controller can manage up to 64 cluster controllers and multiple zones for distributed control and redundancy.
