Description

How does the iDROP System work?
The iDROP adiabatic system cools ambient air by passing it through an evaporative pad to raise relative humidity to about 95%, producing air near the wet‑bulb temperature. This cooled, saturated air then passes through cellulose panels and reduces the temperature of the condenser or air‑cooler batteries, lowering the temperature of the circulating fluid.

Adiabatic cooling definition
Adiabatic cooling is the psychrometric process of supplying water to an air mass; the latent heat required for evaporation is taken from the sensible heat of the air, thus cooling it.

Advantages of the iDROP adiabatic system
Evaporative cellulose panels provide continuous control of humidification output with efficiencies typically between 75% and 95%, targeting around 80% RH. The system can achieve chilled‑water temperatures comparable to evaporative condensing towers while consuming up to 90% less water. No water treatment is required, no aerosols are produced, no recirculation pumps are needed and supplied water fully evaporates into the airstream.

Features of the iDROP adiabatic system
The system uses high‑performance condensing coils available as 5/8" copper tube (0.4 mm wall) or 5/8" AISI 304L stainless steel tube (0.8 mm wall). Coils are fitted with corrugated aluminum fins with 2.1 mm fin spacing. The frame is riveted galvanized sheet metal with a floating support to prevent tube breaks from vibration or thermal expansion. A collectors system with loading shells ensures leak‑free installation. Axial fans incorporate projection grilles and are driven by 400 V / 50 Hz three‑phase motors; fan diameter 910 mm, external rotor, IP54, two‑speed, ErP compliant. Evaporative panels are supplied by Munters and are specified for long service life, easy cleaning and simple maintenance.

Options
Available modifications include anticorrosive treatments, alternative fin materials and different fan models to adapt the unit to specific site or process requirements.
