The Romney is the well-known half-round building, named after one of its original manufacturers. Other original manufacturers are Nissen and Quonset (also called Quinset). The unique shape makes the building exceptionally strong, whilst the structure is quite light. Over the years we have further developed the Romney hut according to the changing rules and regulations. The smart structure makes free spans of 5 to 21.5 metres possible. The buildings are available in 10 standard sizes with different ridge heights and various doors. Most types are available as multi-span, which makes it possible to connect multiple buildings and create even more space. Very strong because of half-round shape The round shape is characteristic of the Romney building. This round shape makes a relatively light structure possible. That’s why this building is perfect for high snow loads. Proven concept The concept dates back to the first world war, when the building was designed in order to quickly and easily provide accommodation. The quick assembly and disassembly process turned it into a global success. Unique, strong and relatively light structure The concept is unique because of its round shape. As a result, this strong building needs only a relatively light structure. Small number of different parts The buildings by Snoei consist of only a small number of parts, which makes the assembly process simple. Perfect for export: 600 m2 in a 20ft container Because of the many identical parts, a building of no less than 600m2 can be transported in a 20ft container.
