1. Maxxtorque — increased output and improved operational safety
The gearbox is designed to transmit very high torque and resist reverse axial loads. PROMIX twin‑screw extruders use a high‑power drive and a dual power distribution gearbox engineered for heavy-duty operation.

3. Maxxvolume — increased throughput via enlarged volume
With an outer/inner diameter ratio of 1.66 the design balances large free volume and effective energy input. Lower cut screw flights and larger external diameters can increase throughput up to 30%.

4. Maxxcooling — enhanced cooling for a wider process window
The design doubles inlet/outlet ports per barrel and uses advanced cooling valve control to increase cooling flow. The system integrates a cooling pipe carrier and compactly assembled coax valves in the frame.

Why coax valves?
  • Zero‑differential‑pressure startup: pressure‑balanced reliable open/close
  • Low flow resistance and high throughput: straight‑through flow path
  • Multi‑medium compatibility: suitable for viscous oils, particle‑laden fluids and high‑pressure gases
  • Long service life and high reliability: even stress distribution reduces seal wear


5. Modular screw system — core processing element
Screw material and configuration are customizable. Elements include conveying & mixing, kneading, intermeshing conveying, and non‑self‑wiping conveying elements to match formulations.

6. Modular barrel system
Barrels can be supplied with ports or inserts for feeding, degassing and venting. Heating uses cartridge heaters for fast heat‑up, quicker melting/wetting and improved spare‑part management compared with heating bands.

7. Raw material solutions
Customized barrel materials and material‑specific inserts are available to meet processing requirements.

8. Surface treatment
Mirror finish options and PVD coatings (e.g., Balzers / MOLDENA) are offered.
