Product overviewCo-rotating parallel twin-screw extruders of the PROMIX series are designed for pharmaceutical continuous manufacturing and related polymer processing tasks. DescriptionExtrusion is a continuous processing technology that integrates feeding, melting, venting and discharge. PROMIX extruders connect upstream material handling and downstream unit operations to enable continuous production lines for pharmaceutical manufacturing and polymer-based formulation processes.

Applications- Hot Melt Extrusion (HME): disperses APIs into polymer carriers (PVP, methacrylates, cellulose derivatives). PROMIX homogenizes and applies high shear to create solid dispersions, improving dissolution and bioavailability of poorly soluble APIs.
- Solid lipid extrusion: cold extrusion of lipid-based carriers to produce plastic masses suitable for thermosensitive APIs without added solvents.
- Granulation: continuous wet extrusion, wet granulation and melt granulation for production of agglomerates and spheronizable extrudates.
- Transdermal preparations: HME for topical forms including patches and implantable devices.
- Pharmaceutical 3D printing: melt extrusion deposition for additive manufacturing after API–excipient mixing.
