ApplicationsThese machines are used in the food and plastics industries. Because they facilitate mixing different products, they are widely employed to treat plastics, especially during plastification and compounding.
TechnologiesSuch devices have two inter-meshing screws rotating in the same or in opposite directions. They turn within a figure-eight-shaped tunnel encased in a cylinder. Raw material is fed into the rear of the extruder through a hopper. It exits the front through a die, which shapes the final product. The barrel is divided into several areas where different operations take place: feed zone, mixing, compression, degassing and discharge zones.
