Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is a polymer created when diisocyanate molecules, such as toluene diisocyanate (TDI) or diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI), react and polymerize with macromolecular polyols and low-molecular polyols (chain extenders). With a density between 0.88 and 1.2 g/cm³, it usually takes the shape of round or diced pellets and appears natural, translucent, or transparent. TPU exhibits excellent physical characteristics, including low long-term compression set, good elongation, and high tensile strength. It also has outstanding processability and can be molded using various techniques such as casting, blow molding, extrusion, and injection molding.
