Overview
The monostable rotary solenoids Kendrion are spring-return rotary actuators engineered for repeat swivel motions, offering precise positioning, long service life and short switching cycles. They are used in mechanical engineering, medical and laboratory equipment, mobile machinery and transport as actuators for sorting gates, throttles and locking devices. A shaft supported by ball bearings on both sides ensures accurate positioning and robustness; their insensitivity to linear acceleration makes them suitable for rail and aircraft applications.

Designs and series
Single-stroke (monostable) versions are offered in two main form factors: Type D (cylindrical / round) and Type E (square). Type D (D1–D9) and Type E (E3–E9) cover a range of rotary angles and torques. Standard configurations include single-stroke rotary solenoids with return spring; reversing versions with two coils and customer-specific variants (plug-in terminals, modified shaft, application-specific mounting holes) are available on request.

Standard operation and customization
Preferred models are designed for 24 V DC operation and 100% ED. Available rotary angles range from 25° to 95°. The BOR version (shaft on both sides) can be used right- or left-handed with 45° or 95° angles; return springs are mounted at the right-hand shaft. Softer return springs may be recommended depending on size, angle and duty cycle (order code DS9429). Alternative shaft designs, mounting flanges, reversing solenoids, special voltages, duty cycles and custom connection technologies (cable lengths, terminals) are available on request.
