Testing principleMix the sample thoroughly (crush large crystals to < 2 mm if required). Weigh approximately 1 g or the weight specified by the test standard and place the sample into a test cup dried to constant weight under the same conditions. Weigh accurately and, unless otherwise specified, dry at 105 °C to constant weight. Calculate loss-on-drying from the weight loss relative to the sample weight.
