Description

Overview
Highly transparent, optically clear pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes designed for bubble-free lamination and bonding of printed electronics and capacitive touch sensors. Suitable for bonding on moisture-outgassing plastics such as PMMA (polymethylmethacrylate) and PC (polycarbonate). Provide permanently high transparency, are acid-free and enable a bubble-free appearance at temperatures up to 105 °C. Excellent for encapsulating print edges of common screen printing inks.

Key application areas
  • Lamination of printed electronics
  • Bonding and assembly of plastic components for HMI (human machine interface) devices
  • Touch sensors and capacitive touch panels
  • Encapsulation of printed edges (screen printing inks)

Substrates
  • Polycarbonate (optionally including corona pre-treatment)
  • Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) (optionally including corona pre-treatment)
  • Polyethylene

Lamination
  • Fully or semi-automatic lamination processes
  • Typical process: first to flexible substrate, then to rigid substrate

Conditioning (example)
  • Autoclave possible
  • Recommendation: component temperature 40–60 °C, 6 bar, > 20 min

Product portfolio highlight
DuploCOLL® OC double-sided transfer tapes: DuploCOLL 26050 OC and DuploCOLL® 26150 OC, available in two thicknesses (0.05 mm and 0.15 mm). Both feature a transparent polyester film liner and a highly transparent pure acrylic adhesive, engineered for excellent optical clarity and durability.

Performance benefits
  • > 98% optical transmission
  • Low haze and low yellowness index
  • Excellent resistance to moisture-outgassing plastic substrates (PC / PMMA)
  • High durability under sunlight exposure without air bubble formation or yellowing
  • Long-term durability at temperature exposure < 105 °C without bubble formation or yellowing
  • Acid-free and compatible with conductive inks
  • Good adaptability to print steps
  • Convertible and packagable under clean room practices

Bubble control and optical stability
Designed to avoid the formation of air bubbles during and after application; remains bubble-free and free of haze/yellowing after temperature exposure compared with conventional OCA tapes. This maintains optical brilliance, backlighting visibility and touch sensor sensitivity.

Examples of application fields
  • Front panel ovens and temperature-exposed assemblies
  • Printed overlay films on HMI devices
  • Encapsulation and lamination in printed electronics assemblies
