The MAIT GEA 550J is a powerful, versatile, and fully hydraulic crawler-mounted drilling rig dedicated to sub-Horizontal drilling function. Its main applications include jet-grouting and bored piling for pre-consolidation and support of excavation of large diameter tunnels. All positioning and drilling operations can be performed by a single operator with the remote control, who can work up to 10m distance from the machine or even by means of an additional radio remote control that make it is possible to operate from a greater distance. The rotation of the mast is obtained by means of two hydraulic slewing rings, for maximum precision and stability during positioning and drilling operations. The vertical level of the two slewing rings can be adjusted (up to 1 m) for easier alignment with the tunnel axis. A computerized system, with electronic display, allows monitoring of rotation and inclination angles for easy positioning.
