Description

Overview
The Mastersizer 3000+ Ultra is a laser diffraction particle size analyzer for suspensions, emulsions and dry powders. Compact and modular, it delivers a very wide measurement range and integrated software tools for method development, routine QC and data quality guidance.

How it works
The instrument measures scattered light from a laser passing through a dispersed sample; detectors record scattering over a wide angular range and data are analyzed using Mie and Fraunhofer models to compute particle size distributions.

Optical bench
Single optical path with red and blue sources covering 10 nm to 3.5 mm; log-spaced detector array and automatic alignment deliver robust scattering data.

Sample dispersion
Multiple wet units (small to large volume) and a high-performance dry dispersion system ensure reproducible concentration and dispersion for accurate results.

Software
Mastersizer Xplorer controls measurements, analyzes scattering, automates methods and provides reporting and in-built expert guidance to reduce training needs and support compliant workflows.
