OverviewOil filters remove solid particles from the oil that accumulate in the lubrication circuit due to contamination and wear. With outstanding particle filtration and high dirt holding capacity, MANN+HUMMEL engine oil filters offer optimum protection and enable long service intervals even under tough operating conditions. They contribute to durable and economical operation of engines in commercial vehicles and industrial applications.
Product rangeEngine oil filter systems from MANN+HUMMEL are available as spin-on oil filters as well as filter modules. Depending on requirements, various MULTIGRADE filter media with different filter grades, sizes and service intervals can be used to protect the engine from wear. Additional functions such as oil cooling, oil pressure and oil temperature measurement as well as soot separation can be optionally integrated into customer-specific oil filter modules for commercial vehicle and industrial engines.
WAVELOCK bayonet interfaceThe innovative WAVELOCK bayonet interface for liquid filter applications enables easy, quick and clean servicing. The bayonet concept with three bayonet wings allows fitting or removal by a 90° rotation without the need for special tools, reducing service time and effort.

Powerful details — WAVELOCK bayonet lockSpin-on oil filters from MANN+HUMMEL have been proven for years and offer optimum protection. The bayonet lock developed by MANN+HUMMEL sets new standards for easy servicing and reduction of service costs. The bayonet connection is designed for tool-free filter changes, clearly defined loosening and tightening torques reduce assembly errors, and the design avoids threads in the flow area to improve component cleanliness.
DesignThe WAVELOCK design is largely comparable to the conventional spin-on filter in fluid flow concept (axial inlet, flow from outside to inside through the filter element, cleaned fluid exits via the center). Radial O-rings provide sealing to the environment and between dirty and clean sides. The modular design allows integration of additional functions such as a filter bypass valve or anti-drain membrane.
Connection of the WAVELOCK spin-on filter to the flangeThe key innovation is a bayonet concept with three bayonet wings for quick, tool-free service by a 90° rotation. Sealing between filter head and WAVELOCK filter is achieved with two radial O-rings; pressurized sealing ensures reliability at high pressures and compensates relative movements.
Modular filter systemThe WAVELOCK design is being integrated into a modular system to cover a wide range of applications (oil, hydraulic oil, fuel and fuel pre-filter). Different sizes, filtration requirements and additional functions can be combined. Variants include heads with hand-operated pump or electric pump; WAVELOCK filters are available in multiple lengths and with options such as water separation, electric heater or water sensor.
Advantages of the WAVELOCK system- Tool-free and thus fast filter service
- Combines simplicity and variability of a spin-on filter with modern filter system requirements
- Patented bayonet connection as interface between spin-on filter and filter head enables copy protection and prevents use of inferior filters
- Increased operational reliability due to radial seals to the environment and between dirty and clean sides
- Improved component cleanliness by eliminating threads in the fluid area
- Robust design using established spin-on filter components
- Modular design covers different sizes and functions
- Improved total cost of ownership
