The extrusion process for rubber products is a forming method that changes the shape of raw material through plastic deformation caused by forces applied via equipment and dies.
Extrusion continuously produces long wires or bars with either a circular cross-section or complex profiles with three or more sides. This process dates back to the 11th century and has continuously evolved to overcome dimensional limitations progressively.
Mediatec produces rubber extrusions using various materials, including:
SBR
CR (Neoprene)
NBR
EPDM
VITON
HYPALON
PARA
(For the characteristics of individual materials, refer to the dedicated section in the Products – Plastic Materials section.)
Hardness and Pigmentation
Depending on the application, compounds can be extruded in hardness levels ranging from 20 Shore A to 95 Shore A, with the possibility of custom pigmentation.
Formats
In addition to standard round, square, and rectangular profiles in various sizes, we offer a wide range of dies. Upon request, custom profiles can be created.
For a complete catalog of our dies, please contact our technical department.
