Description

Product information
GRP sandwich grating consists of a molded GRP grating as the load-bearing core and two GRP panels laminated on the top and bottom faces. Standard panel thickness is 3 mm; 5 mm panels are available as an option. The grating surface is ground smooth before panel lamination to ensure optimal bonding and load transfer. All moulded GRP gratings can serve as a base for sandwich configurations. Multiple surface finishes are available, including anti-slip options tailored to the application.

Resin types
  • Fiberglass flooring with several resin systems — Resin systems can be adapted for enhanced corrosion resistance, elevated temperature performance and improved fire characteristics.
  • Orthophthalic Polyester resin (OPR) — for mildly corrosive environments
    • resin type: orthophthalic polyester
    • hardly flammable, halogen-free (non-toxic)
    • self-extinguishing properties
    • HDT (A): 80 °C
    • dimensional stability (Martens): 160 °C
  • Isophthalic Polyester resin (IPR) — standard, general-purpose
    • resin type: isophthalic polyester
    • hardly flammable, halogen-free (non-toxic)
    • self-extinguishing properties
    • HDT (A): 120 °C
    • dimensional stability (Martens): 160 °C
  • Vinyl Ester resin (VER) — for high chemical and temperature resistance
    • resin type: vinyl ester
    • hardly flammable, halogen-free (non-toxic)
    • self-extinguishing properties
    • HDT (A): 120 °C
    • dimensional stability (Martens): 180 °C

Vinyl ester is recommended for gratings requiring long service life under aggressive chemical exposure and higher temperature loads.
  • Phenolic resin (PHR) — for maximum fire safety
    • resin type: phenolic
    • hardly flammable
    • self-extinguishing properties
    • HDT (A): 160 °C
    • dimensional stability (Martens): 180 °C

Phenolic systems offer high fire resistance with low smoke and reduced toxic combustion gases.
