Description

Professional protective lenses for laser welding
High-resistance optical shield for SUP, SW and HW heads
Protective lenses are the last critical defense for a machine's optical chain. Positioned at the end of the optical path, they shield expensive focusing and collimating optics from molten metal splatter, dust and process vapors generated during welding.

Industrial-grade technical specifications
  • Material: High-purity fused silica (Fused Silica).
  • Transmittance: >99.8% — ensures beam passage with negligible power loss and minimal residual heating on the window.
  • Double-sided AR coating: Optimized for 1064 nm to minimize back-reflections that could damage the laser source.
  • High damage threshold: Designed to withstand continuous laser powers up to 3000 W and above.
  • Dimensional precision: Ultra-precise laser cutting for a sealed fit in the housing, preventing dust ingress.

Why lens quality matters
  • Protecting your investment: A quality protective window prevents damage to the internal focusing lens, which is substantially more costly to replace.
  • Focal-point stability: Low thermal distortion of fused silica prevents focus shift even after prolonged high-power operation.
  • Weld bead consistency: A clean, undistorted protective lens maintains energy density at the joint, reducing porosity and improving appearance.

Maintenance and replacement guide
WARNING: The protective lens is a sacrificial component. Lifetime depends on operating environment and correct shielding gas settings.
  • Daily inspection: Check for black spots or opacities. If the laser appears to 'smoke' or output power drops, the window is likely contaminated.
  • Cleaning procedure: Use only isopropyl alcohol or 99% ethanol and optical-grade microfiber cloths or dedicated optical swabs.
  • Replacement indicators: If metal deposits do not come off with cleaning or if pitting/cracks appear, replace the lens immediately to avoid heat transfer to internal optics.

Compatibility
Available in all standard formats for portable laser guns:
  • Ø18×2 mm / Ø20×2 mm (Standard)
  • 30×5 mm / 37×7 mm (For high-power heads)
  • Compatible with SUP, Raytools, WSX, Han's Laser portable heads.

Welding gun components (Name — Function)
  • Nozzle (copper) — directs the laser beam and assist gas to the weld spot.
  • Adjustable sleeve / focusing collar — allows millimetric focal position adjustment.
  • Protective window — shields internal optics from molten metal splatter and dust.
  • Focusing lens — concentrates the laser into a very small, high-energy spot.
  • Reflective lens / galvanometer — directs the beam; in oscillating heads it creates the wobble motion.
  • Wobble motor — controls beam oscillation for wider weld patterns.
  • Collimating lens — makes divergent fiber output parallel.
  • Trigger / activation button — controls laser emission (often contact-safety enabled).
  • Wire feed bracket — mechanical support for automatic filler wire.
  • Water channels / gas ducts — cool the torch (water) and protect the melt pool (gas).
  • Protective sleeve — connector protection and fiber entry point.
