Description

Description
The MicroSENS 180-HS-PFAS-FREE 0–20% CO₂ gas sensor is an NDIR diffusion sensor designed for CO₂ monitoring and control in cell incubators. The sensor head is placed inside the incubation chamber to measure CO₂ concentration directly in the cell culture environment using infrared absorption for reliable and precise determination of CO₂ concentration.

Key features
  • NDIR CO₂ sensor (IR dual-beam technology)
  • PFAS-free design (no intentionally added PFAS in wetted/gas-exposed sensor head materials, including filter concept)
  • Temperature and pressure compensation
  • Humidity compensation
  • Heat sterilizable at typ. 180 °C (short-term up to max. 190 °C)
  • Long service life; designed for high sterilization cycle counts
  • Digital (RS232) and analogue (4–20 mA) interfaces

Performance and integration
The sensor uses a dual-beam NDIR method with low drift and low susceptibility to interference, delivering high reliability and long lifetime. Heat sterilization of the sensor head (typ. 180 °C, short-term up to 190 °C) reduces cross-contamination risk and simplifies decontamination. Temperature, pressure and humidity compensation ensure stable readings in humid incubator atmospheres. A 15-point calibration matrix (five concentrations at three temperatures) improves linearity over the full 0–20% range. Digital and analogue outputs and a feed-through mounting concept facilitate OEM integration with incubator control electronics.
