OverviewThe electrohydrostatic pump unit (EPU / EPU-G) from Moog is the core of electrohydrostatic drive systems and enables the realization of high-performance decentralized drives. It makes a hydraulic power pack and complex piping unnecessary and helps reduce the overall machine footprint. The compact product design features a connection interface that allows direct mounting to a cylinder or valve block, minimizing the additional space required on each axis.
Functions and featuresThe EPU(-G) meets customer requirements for functionality, modularity, electrification, energy efficiency, robustness, serviceability and sustainability. Thanks to its compact design and simple handling, extensive hydraulic expertise is not required, enabling flexible integration into existing machines.
Pump types and nominal sizes- EPU-G: nominal sizes 13 and 20, use an internal gear pump to generate flow.
- EPU: nominal sizes 19, 32, 80 and 140, use a radial piston pump. These radial piston pumps are available in two versions: fixed or variable displacement.
Advantages- High energy efficiency.
- Reduces oil volume by up to 90%, supports sustainable and clean operation, lowers maintenance and operating costs and reduces fire risk.
- Ability to generate high forces provides a practical alternative to electrohydrostatic (EH) drive systems.
- Connection interface enables direct mounting, reducing piping and maintenance effort as well as machine footprint.
- Self-contained, compact product design.
- Four-quadrant operation.
