These workholding clamps are an excellent choice when:

Thin-walled workpieces are being machined.
These jaws create required holding force with less clamping force whilst preventing distortions of the workpiece while clamping. The tungsten carbide-coated jaw has a friction coefficient of 0.28 against steel, which is nearly doubled compared to smooth jaws with a friction coefficient of 0.15 against steel.
