Product overviewOKS 1050/1 is a silicone oil used as a lubricant and release agent for plastics and elastomers. It forms extremely thin lubricating films and provides antistatic separating properties while remaining neutral to most plastics and elastomers.
Areas of application- Release agent for casting, injection moulding, blow moulding and extrusion of plastics and elastomers
- Prevents sticking of adhesive and sealing compound residues or water wetting
- Sliding agent to reduce noise from rubbing between plastics, elastomers and metals
- Lubrication of cutting edges in paper, cardboard, veneer and textile processing machines
- Facilitates insertion and retraction of plastic and rubber profiles (e.g. door and window production)
Advantages and benefits- Excellent surface wetting and formation of very thin lubricant films for high efficiency
- Separating effect with antistatic properties
- Suitable for long-term lubrication, protection, care and impregnation
- Neutral behaviour toward most plastics and elastomers
- Resistant to water and atmospheric influences
Technical specifications- Lower operating temperature: -55 °C
- Upper operating temperature: 200 °C
- Density (at 20 °C): 0.97 g/cm³
- Viscosity (at 25 °C): 500 mm²/s (500 cSt)
Applications / InstructionsFor best results, clean surfaces mechanically first and then with OKS 2610/OKS 2611 Universal Cleaner. Apply a uniformly thin layer with a brush, drip oiler or by dipping. Avoid excess. Mix only with compatible lubricants. Silicone-based plastics (e.g. silicone rubber) can be attacked by silicone oil. Do not use on sliding surfaces exposed to pure oxygen. Turbidity may occur and does not affect product quality.
