Description

Meldin® 1000 series is an Omniseal Solutions material line based on polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) thermoplastic compounds. Components made from the Meldin® series materials exhibit excellent chemical and thermal resistance, have good dimensional stability, and maintain structural integrity, proving design versatility. This stability stems naturally from the low coefficients of thermal expansion of the series. The dimensional stability is particularly apparent in components functioning in close-clearance applications. The material's low creep and low water absorption allow designers to specify close clearances in moving mating components. The series also has high strength, good rigidity, and a high strength-to-weight ratio for durability and wear resistance. All grades are processed by injection molding and are available as finished parts. The different grade number references a different composition resulting in different properties. A few stick shapes are available as well, mainly to support prototyping activities.
