Overview
These proprietary polyimide-based sheet molding compounds (SMC) are formulated for aviation-critical mechanical components where metal alternatives are sought for weight reduction and thermal performance. Designed for continuous operation up to ~315°C (600°F) with service condition data up to +320°C, they are suitable for components exposed to high temperatures and heavy mechanical loads.

Material Variants
  • H310®: Thermoset polyimide resin reinforced with 1 in (25.4 mm) chopped carbon fiber — optimized for high mechanical load-bearing applications at lower to moderate sliding speeds.
  • H320®: Thermoset polyimide resin reinforced with 1 in (25.4 mm) chopped glass fiber — intended for high-temperature heat-shielding and electrical insulation uses.
