Product summaryRulon® XL is a tan-colored filled PTFE bearing material optimized for use against aluminum (including anodized) substrates. It exhibits very low wear compared with other Rulon® grades, low deformation under load and excellent chemical resistance. Its non-abrasive character reduces galling of softer mating surfaces. Rulon® XL also demonstrates excellent outgassing performance and is noted as particularly suitable for vacuum service. Avoid use with strong alkalis.
Advantages- Very low wear compared with other Rulon® grades
- Low deformation under load
- Exceptionally good chemical resistance
- Compatible with a wide range of mating surfaces (avoid alkalis)
- Non-abrasive — reduces galling of softer mating surfaces
- Excellent outgassing capability — particularly suitable for vacuum service
- Recommended for moderate to high speed dynamic service running against soft metals
- Some source information is inconsistent regarding steam: parts of the source state it is not recommended for steam, while other parts indicate it can be used in steam, wet and dry environments
Applications- Vacuum pumps, mixers, compressors, appliances, insulators, linear slides, shaft support, wear bands
