The Optris CTratio 2M emerges as a rugged and reliable fiber-optical ratio thermometer, meticulously engineered for precise non-contact temperature measurement across a broad range of high temperatures, spanning from 250 °C to 3000 °C. This advanced instrument offers versatility and accuracy, catering to various measurement requirements through its three distinct models: 2ML, 2MH, and 2MH1. Leveraging the robust fiber-optical two-color technology, the CTratio 2M delivers consistent and repeatable temperature measurement results, thanks to the pyrometers innovative ratio measurement principle. Unlike conventional single-color pyrometers that rely solely on intensity measurements, the CTratio harnesses the power of dual-color or two-color pyrometry. By measuring infrared radiation at two closely spaced wavelengths and evaluating the relationship between these intensities, the CTratio ensures accurate and reliable measurements even in adverse conditions. This approach proves invaluable in scenarios where emissivity is unknown or changes with temperature, as the infrared sensor accounts for variations in emissivity or process conditions proportionally across both wavelength signals. Moreover, the CTratio’s resilience extends to challenging environments where obstacles like dust, smoke, or steam may be present in the optical path. With the ability to maintain reliability even with up to 90 percent attenuation caused by changing transmissions, this pyrometer remains a dependable tool in industrial settings.
