Product overviewThe SPEEDRAM boring and milling machines combine hydrostatic damping, high rigidity and high spindle torque to deliver precision for medium- and large-size components where horizontal machining is preferred.
Design and featuresPreloaded hydrostatic guides are fitted on the X and Y axes to maximise rigidity and vibration damping. The machine's ram runs inside the headstock on hydrostatic pads and carries a mechanically driven boring bar. Both ram and boring bar include feedback systems to compensate thermal elongations, ensuring precision and localized vibration damping.
Engineering and customizationStructures are optimised by finite element analysis for static and dynamic rigidity and thermal symmetry. SPEEDRAM can be configured with:
- a wide range of standard or customised CNC attachment heads
- a variety of milling or turning tables
- a wide assortment of tool magazines and magazines for tools and CNC attachment heads
ControlsAvailable CNC controls include Siemens, Heidenhain or Fanuc.
