OverviewParamount Chopper Conveyor Fans are heavy‑duty units engineered to cut and convey a wide range of industrial materials. Developed over 25 years, they combine a paddle‑blade impeller cutting system with robust construction to support continuous operation and reduced maintenance.
Construction and materialsThe impeller is manufactured from non‑alloy structural grade steel (not mild steel) for improved durability. Each paddle blade is fitted with a bolted 6 mm thick low‑carbon manganese hardened steel cutting blade on its leading edge to resist impact and extend service life.
Impeller, shaft and bearingsThe impeller is mounted on a large‑diameter shaft designed for heavy‑duty environments. The shaft is supported by heavy‑duty sealed‑for‑life bearings to minimise maintenance and enhance operational reliability.
Inlet and cutting controlMaterial enters the fan through an adjustable inlet that alters cutting characteristics to optimise conveying performance. For continuous trim applications an inlet cone with anti‑roping knives prevents material wrapping around the impeller. For highly abrasive materials the inlet cone can be case‑hardened to increase protection and service life.
Materials handled & applicationsParamount Chopper Conveyor Fans handle paper, tissue, corrugated board, aluminium foil, plastics, scrap cans and flock. Typical sectors include printing, packaging and recycling operations where cutting and conveying are combined.
Energy efficiency & controlsTo enable system tuning and potential energy savings, fans can be supplied with Variable Speed Drives (VSD). Using survey data in bespoke software, expected energy savings can be evaluated for new or retrofitted VSD installations.
Noise control & enclosuresFor noise‑sensitive installations Paramount can supply acoustic enclosures, inlet and outlet silencers and sound‑proofing for ducting to reduce operational noise levels.
Spares & serviceDetailed manufacturing records allow Paramount to supply spare parts typically from stock, ensuring quick access to replacements and minimised downtime.
