OverviewThe Paramount Cyclone is a cyclonic separation unit designed to remove waste and dust from an airstream without the need for filter media. Using vortex effects and gravity, the unit separates particulates from conveyed air with no internal moving parts, making it suitable for many industrial dust-handling applications.
Design and PrincipleThe Paramount Cyclone consists of an upper circular body, a top tangential inlet, a lower cone and an axial thimble that forms the clean-air outlet. Tangential introduction of dust-laden air creates a strong rotational flow; centrifugal forces drive heavier particulates outward toward the wall and down the cone for discharge.
OperationParticulates centrifuge outward and move down the cyclone wall into the bottom discharge, where material can be collected in a bin, compactor or briquetter. The core air reverses direction and rises through the axial thimble as cleaned air, which can be further processed or exhausted.
Construction and FeaturesThe internal surface is fully smooth and purposely excludes spiral guides to avoid entanglement of light webbing trims. The absence of moving internal components reduces maintenance needs and improves operational reliability.
Optional Additions- Balance fan on the clean-air outlet to assist airflow control (recommended in some installations).
- External acoustic cladding with sound-absorbing materials for noise-sensitive environments.
- Downstream filtration (including HEPA) if fine particulates remain and additional cleaning is required prior to recirculation.
ApplicationsThe Paramount Cyclone is suitable for industrial settings requiring a low-cost, reliable means of separating dust and particulates, including handling of light webbing trims and general waste collection in production processes.
