OverviewEmergency Check Valves (ECVs) are designed to block the spread of flames and gases, thereby preventing structural damage and protecting operators. The safety non return valve is certified ATEX EN16447 against the propagation of an explosion in the suction line as required by the ATEX directive 2014/34/EU. ECVs are passive safety devices that activate automatically in case of overpressure or explosion, sealing tightly to prevent backward flow of unwanted gases or flames.
Function / OperationECVs remain open during normal operation and do not restrict flow. In the event of an explosion or backpressure in a filtration device or ducting, the valve closes to prevent the effects of explosion and fire from traveling back through the ducting to work areas. Once activated by overpressure, the valve stays closed, preventing backward propagation of flames and gases.
ApplicationsECVs are required on all waste extraction systems that include a filtration device. They form part of safety systems for industrial environments at risk of explosion and are intended to protect structures and personnel.
Construction & MaterialsECVs are constructed from carbon steel (painted blue RAL5010 or red RAL3020) or stainless steel (AISI 304). Unions are welded and reinforced to withstand high pressure.
Available options / Variants- ECV with microswitch (close position)
