OverviewThe Paramount Rotary Separator is a rotary separation device designed to remove waste from conveying air while minimising system pressure drop. Unit sizing is based on extraction air volume and the type and volume of waste. The design maintains separation performance within operational air and waste volume variations.
How it worksHigh-performance rubber strips mounted on the tips of an internal rotating paddle continuously scour a heavy-duty perforated cylindrical separation screen. This action clears waste from the screen while allowing conveying air to pass with minimal pressure drop. The rubber strips create an airtight seal between the upper and lower sections. The rotating paddle conveys separated waste to the discharge side and permits air to pass through the top without disturbing the natural gravitational fall of the waste into a bin or compactor.
Construction and DriveThe unit is fabricated from 3 mm-thick steel and pressure tested before dispatch to verify integrity. A high-performance British-manufactured motorised gearbox drives the paddle assembly. The gearbox is mounted on shock-absorbing rubber bobbins and includes an integral motor cut-out for protection and reliable operation.
Applications and PerformanceThe Paramount Rotary Separator offers a compact footprint compared with traditional separators and rotary valves, making it suitable where height is constrained. It handles a range of difficult wastes including light materials (e.g., tissue) and static-charged waste, accepts multiple feed lines without imbalance, and operates smoothly under heavy loads while minimising system pressure drop.
