Description

Overview
Miniature ball screw assemblies are precision mechanical assemblies designed to convert rotary motion into linear motion with low friction and high repeatability. Miniature Ball Screw Assemblies by PBC Linear use precision-rolled 1050 steel screw shafts and are offered with cylindrical, flanged or externally threaded cylindrical nuts for straightforward installation in compact automation and precision motion systems. The assemblies feature a multi-liner ball return for smooth recirculation, optional preload for increased rigidity and polymer wipers to reduce debris ingress for extended service life.

Key features
  • Precision-rolled 1050 steel screw shafts
  • Available screw diameters: 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm
  • Available lead sizes: 1 mm, 2 mm, 2.5 mm
  • Nut options: cylindrical, flanged, externally threaded cylindrical
  • Multi-liner ball return system for smooth, consistent motion
  • Optional preload to improve rigidity and positional accuracy
  • Polymer wipers at each nut end to reduce debris ingress
  • Maximum static axial load: 2.144 kN (482 lb)
  • Compatible with NEMA 08–23 motors
  • Select assemblies available with PowerPlus technology (25–40% increased torque)

Applications
Engineered for compact automation and precision-motion applications such as robotics, CNC stages, laboratory automation, medical devices and other industrial automation systems where small size, repeatability and durability are required.

Additional notes
These miniature assemblies are manufactured in the USA and can offer shorter lead times versus some alternatives. Nut fit options include Standard and Transitional fits to tune rigidity and preload behavior for the target application.
