OPCAV Ultrasonic Cavitation MeterOPCAV is a portable ultrasonic cavitation measurement device intended for the quantitative evaluation of ultrasonic signals within defined frequency bands.
The instrument is designed to measure two independent frequency ranges of the probe signal:
- 20 kHz to 50 kHz – sonication signal level
- 400 kHz to 1.2 MHz – cavitation activity level
The selected frequency bands enable application in a wide range of ultrasonic cavitation and sonication processes. High channel selectivity combined with a programmable gain of up to
61 dB allows operation over a broad range of input signal amplitudes.
OPCAV is a compact, lightweight, battery-powered device suitable for portable operation. All operating functions are configured and activated manually using an integrated keypad. Correct operation requires the connection of a compatible ultrasonic probe.
Prior to initial operation, a
calibration measurement shall be performed. Measurement results are subsequently displayed as values
relative to the calibration reference.
The device is powered by a
rechargeable lithium-ion battery, charged via a USB interface. Measurement data may be accessed through the
USB (UART) communication interface using standard terminal software.
For extended data acquisition and analysis, a dedicated software application (
OPCAV) is available. The application supports the acquisition of up to
1000 measurement records, provides structured data visualization, and allows loading and saving of measurement results.
Measurement results are represented as a
percentage difference between the current measured value and the calibration reference, normalized to the full-scale range of the analog-to-digital converter.
Standards ComplianceThe product has been tested and found to be in conformity with the following standards:
- EC 60886:1987 – Investigations on test procedures for ultrasonic cleaners
- EC 63001:2019 – Measurement of cavitation noise in ultrasonic baths and ultrasonic reactors
