DescriptionThe PCE-LDC 8 ultrasonic gas leak detector locates leaks on compressed air systems, coolant lines and non-explosive gas pipelines. It uses an ultrasonic sensor centered at 40 kHz (operating range 20–80 kHz) with an integrated high-pass filter to suppress noises below ~40 kHz. An internal amplifier makes high-frequency leak tones audible via supplied headphones and the device also indicates signal intensity on an LCD. The sensor includes a laser pointer for targeting; an extension lance can be fitted for pinpoint detection. Depending on pipeline pressure, leaks can be detected from distances up to 18 m. The unit is powered by a rechargeable NiMH battery and is supplied in a robust carrying case with accessories.
