These area sensors detect all types of metal and are for use in conveyor belts and chutes. This allows products such as bulk materials or finished goods to be examined. Furthermore, films or other strip material can be passed directly over the sensor and checked for metal residues, making them useful for quality assurance and machine protection. These sensors are also suitable for process control, e.g., for quantity counting or completeness checks. The flexible system consisting of three different sensors enables variable widths from 95 mm to an infinite value. The sensors can also be mounted above and below conveyor belts and other equipment (sandwich arrangement), thus increasing the sensitivity. In conjunction with the optional switching device, conveyor systems or discharge units can be controlled directly.
