The sharpness and durability measurement is based on the repeated cutting and separating of a filamentary test medium. The force required to cut through the test medium is measured. The characteristic cutting force curves are evaluated and allow conclusions to be drawn about cutting characteristics of the blades, e.g. initial sharpness, coating resistance, edge durability.
The blade to be tested is placed in a blade holder and fixed in place. The blade holder can be adapted for different blade shapes (double edge blades, flat razor blades, curved razor blades, razor blades with carrier, callus razor blades, cutter blades, ...).
