Overview
Manufactured since 1997, the Novo-Curve 4 is engineered to measure gloss on curved, cylindrical and small parts that are not suitable for standard handheld units. Specially designed 60° optics and a reduced measurement spot enable accurate readings on irregular shapes and restricted areas. Modular jigging options improve repeatability for complex geometries.

Measurement advice
Use continuous (constant read) mode to locate peak gloss on curved samples. Employ the indented platen, moveable jigging posts or bespoke adaptors to ensure repeatable placement of small or complex parts. Calibrate with a standard close to the sample finish (matt to mirror) for best accuracy.

For very low or very high gloss ranges or when DOI/haze parameters are required, refer to alternative instruments in the range that offer higher resolution or additional metrics.

Notes
Calibration standards from matt to mirror are available to match sample finishes. A mirror gloss calibration standard is recommended for best reproducibility at very high gloss ranges.
