Load range up to 20 N (other load ranges available)
Evaluate lubricity, predict additive performance, and study friction and wear with our HFRR high-frequency reciprocating rig.
This next-generation Rtec Instruments HFRR testing machine features programmable force control (no dead weights), combined with piezo sensors to measure real-time friction. Its ease of use and flexure-based design make the tester highly reliable and repeatable.
Samples can be tested either from the field or for research purposes. The FFT-M provides a fully automated, computer-controlled test. Setup is easy, with calibration supported by standard oils and samples.
Each tester conforms to several ASTM standards, including the widely used ASTM D6079. In addition to standard testing, the wide stroke, frequency, and load ranges allow the development of new custom test methods—making it ideal for evaluating next-generation fuel additives.
