The INDEVA Lean System® has significantly improved production processes in the automotive industry, thanks to its application at a large French company, which has adopted solutions based on Lean Manufacturing principles. The INDEVA solution supplied comprises several trolleys, each mounted on a system of elevated tracks that follow the vehicle along the production line. Each trolley is custom-designed for car door assembly and fastening operations, optimising component handling.
The main benefits of this INDEVA solution include simplified component supply through a kanban system, immediate visualisation of all materials and small components such as screws, buttons and clips through a kitting system, and increased organisation through the implementation of the Lean 5S system. In addition, the trolleys are easily adaptable to new requirements, allowing quick changes when new components or tools are needed, thanks to the modular nature of the INDEVA Lean System®.
The trolleys move easily along the elevated track, and are equipped with electrical and pneumatic connections that can be connected to the pneumatic and electrical network of each station via a festoon wiring system. The customer expressed great satisfaction with this customised solution, particularly appreciating the attention paid to specific requirements, the 3D simulation and the provision of a prototype prior to production. This project fully met the expectations of the customer, who, like many other large companies, continues to choose INDEVA® to optimise their production systems.
