The TLG is held over an open groundwater measuring point. By flicking the crank handle, the lock is released and the weighted cable is lowered at a constant speed. Once the weight reaches the water table surface, the TLG locks the rope drum. The distance covered by the steel rope can be easily read on the 5-digit roller counter in meters and centimeters. Subsequently, the solder is recovered from the measuring point by means of the crank handle without any great effort.
