Product overviewThe SEVEN 3S-TP-MB-A thermopile pyranometer measures solar irradiance (W/m²) and meets ISO 9060:2018 Class A and IEC 61724-1:2021 Class A requirements. Its advanced thermopile detector and optical diffuser deliver stable, fast and spectrally‑flat measurements across 280–3000 nm, suitable for solar resource assessment, PV monitoring, meteorology and agricultural applications.
How it works- The sensor converts the temperature difference generated on the thermopile absorbing surface into a voltage proportional to irradiance.
- A glass dome captures both direct and diffuse radiation over the hemisphere (2π sr) to provide accurate W/m² readings for GHI or, when mounted on a tilted plane, POA.
- Spectral response and low zero‑offset ensure reliable data under varying environmental conditions.
Key features- Class A performance according to ISO 9060:2018 and IEC 61724-1:2021.
- Measures GHI or POA irradiance plus internal & housing temperature, internal humidity and pressure, and sensor tilt angle.
- Spectral range 280–3000 nm; irradiance range to +4000 W/m²; resolution 0.1 W/m².
- Fast response (95% in 0.5 s), low zero offsets and excellent long‑term stability.
- RS485 output up to 38400 Baud with Modbus RTU (option for Modbus TCP/IP).
- Rugged, weather‑resistant design with anodized aluminum housing and IP68 protection.
Installation and maintenance- Unpack and inspect: verify all components and check for transport damage.
- Site selection: choose a location with an unobstructed 180° view of the sky and no shading.
- Mounting: install the instrument level and secure it to a stable support; use the bubble level for precise leveling.
- Electrical connection: connect 12–30 V DC power and RS485 to the data logger following the wiring diagram in the manual.
- Configuration: set communication parameters with the configuration tool and verify sampling/output rate.
Maintenance- Daily: visual inspection for damage or obstructions.
- Weekly: clean the glass dome to remove dust, bird droppings or debris.
- Monthly: check data output and system integration; confirm sensor tilt and bubble level.
- Annually: full system check and calibration verification.
- Recalibration recommendation: standard practice every two years; diffuser stability may allow up to five years between recalibrations subject to site conditions.
