Welding and in particular overlay welding, is a technique that allows to add material under the action of heat. There are many types of welding, for example electrode, submerged arc, MIG/MAG. The latter is the one chosen for the Sir Meccanica multifunction machine tools, since it is a continuous wire feed, which ensures high productivity. Furthermore, the presence of gas allows to operate without slag, making the process economical, fast and high-performance. In the case of the Sir Meccanica's machine tools, which include the Rotary Welding series, the overlay welding is used to add material, where the wear of time or cycles has consumed it, so that a subsequent machining for chip removal can restore the component to its original conditions.
