PWIIS-EX dampers are used in ventilation systems operated in potentially explosive atmospheres. Such threats occur, among others in chemical, wood and paint plants, gas factories, etc. – that is, wherever an explosion hazard zone has been designated, where explosive mixtures of gases, vapors, mists and dusts with air may occur. PWIIS-EX damper has been tested and classified to the group II of category 2 according to PN-EN ISO 80079-36: 2016; PN-EN ISO 80079-37: 2016, which means that it is suitable for use inzones 1 and 2 as well as 21 and 22. The design of the damper ensures tightness within class 2 (for area<0,8 m2) or class 3 (for area≥0,8 m2) according to EN-1751, thanks to special sealing inserts mounted on the ends of the blades. The individual blades are driven by a system of levers and tie rods, in an opposed arrangement.
