Product Overview: GS900 magnetic coupling is designed for magnetic drive agitators and special pumps, custom-made for specific applications. Sealing Function: The containment shroud, fixed on the housing, separates the internal and external rotors, ensuring a completely leak-proof separation of product space and atmosphere. The sealing is static, using a flat gasket or an O-ring, eliminating the need for dynamically loaded sealing elements. GS900 offers both metallic and non-metallic containment shrouds as standard. Metallic types cover the widest application range but may cause eddy current losses requiring cooling. If eddy current losses can be excluded, energy-efficient alternatives like PEEK and ceramics are available. The standard GS900 magnetic coupling with containment shroud and radially positioned magnets ensures hermetic separation of driving and driven sides in pumps and agitators. Disk coupling (optional): Magnets face each other axially, allowing torque transmission through plane walls. The transmittable torque can be varied by adjusting the air gap. Application Notes: - GS900 couplings with stainless steel containment shroud are common for pump drives and other liquid applications in the lower performance range, offering high resistance to pressure and temperature. - Magnetic rotors are available from stock in unbored or pilot bored design; finish boring to ISO fit H7 and feather keyway to DIN 6885 sheet 1 [JS9] available on request. - Metallic containment shrouds may cause eddy current losses, generating heat that may require cooling.
