Description

Overview
The SDR9488D is an 8-channel software-defined radio transceiver in a PXIe desktop form factor. It provides 9 GS/s sampling, 16-bit resolution and >1 GHz instantaneous bandwidth per channel for demanding multi-channel RF test, radar, electronic warfare and quantum control applications.

Key Highlights
  • 9 GS/s sampling rate with 16-bit resolution
  • 8-channel true multi-channel / MIMO operation
  • Modular PXIe architecture for compact scaling
  • Deterministic, time-synchronized closed-loop operation
  • FPGA-accelerated signal processing with low-latency conditional waveform generation
  • >1 GHz instantaneous bandwidth per channel (ultra-wideband)
  • High-throughput streaming and deep onboard memory with waveform replay

Detailed Description
The SDR9488D integrates DACs and ADCs within a single FPGA-controlled transceiver, enabling real-time feedback and conditional waveform generation without round-trip latency to a host PC. Built on an industry-standard PXIe architecture, the platform supports dense channel packing and synchronization across many units for phase-coherent arrays. The Proteus family design delivers multi-channel transmit/receive capability with high instantaneous bandwidth per channel, suitable for laboratory and system-level RF research.

Applications
  • Advanced radar research, simulation and target generation
  • Electronic Warfare systems including closed-loop EW and threat simulation
  • Quantum computing — qubit control and low-latency reset/feedback
  • Massive MIMO research and multi-channel RF testbeds
