OverviewTDK Corporation announces the MAF1005FR series: compact multilayer chip noise suppression filters for audio lines (sound lines) in smartphones and other devices (tablets, wearables, portable games). The components measure 1.0 mm (L) x 0.5 mm (W) x 0.5 mm (H) and entered mass production in November 2023.
Performance summary- Wide frequency bandpass covering from the FM band to the cellular band.
- Typical impedance up to 2600 Ω at 900 MHz and insertion loss of more than 25 dB (typical).
- Designed with newly developed low-distortion ferrite materials to reduce audio distortion while maintaining sound quality.
- Low DC resistance to limit sound distortion with minimal volume reduction.
- Wide operating temperature range: -55 °C to +125 °C.
Main applications- Audio lines for smartphones, tablets, wearable devices and portable games (earphones, microphones, speakers).
Main features and benefits- Suppress electromagnetic noise across a wide frequency range (FM to cellular).
- Lower audio distortion compared with conventional chip beads thanks to low-distortion ferrite material.
- Single-component wideband suppression, reducing need for multiple filters per frequency band in many designs.
- Extremely compact footprint for space-constrained designs.
