How to interpret nozzle marking and choose the right nozzle

• The first digit of the nozzle code indicates fan width (spray angle). Example: a first digit of 4 = 40°. Multiply that number by 5 to estimate coverage at 30 cm (4 × 5 = 20 cm).
• The last two digits indicate the orifice size in thousandths of an inch. Example: 19 = 0.019". Larger numbers correspond to higher flow; flow also depends on pressure and paint viscosity.
