Description

Sialtex® tape is made only with Sialtex yarns and is mainly used in the aeronautical and automotive sectors. Sialtex offers good chemical resistance, thermal shock resistance and electrical insulation properties. The yarn is made up of thousands of continuous and resistant filaments that give it excellent flexibility and allows it to be readily transformed into various textile forms such as woven fabrics, woven sleeves, ribbons, ropes and threads for sewing without the aid of other organic fibers or metal fibers. Sialtex is composed solely of Al2O3 (alumina) and SiO2 (silica), which are commonly known as representatives of stable metal oxides. Applications Thermal insulation rings (disks and collars) for diffusion furnaces used in the semiconductor manufacturing process, furnace linings, heat-Shielding curtains, thermal insulation seals and packing materials, thermal insulation coverings for thermocouple cables and wires, roller covering for tempered glass plate manufacturing, filters for molten alumi-nium or other metals, spacers for heat treatment of metal or other materials, abrasives for plastic whetstones, insulators around generator and aircraft/rocket engines, electrical and thermal insulators for diesel particulate filter (DPF) systems.
