During fire accidents, some chemicals such as fluorine gas, perchlorate salts like ammonium perchlorate or chlorine trifluoride, act as oxidizers, sometimes more powerful ones than oxygen itself. A fire based on a reaction with these oxidizers can be very difficult to put out until the oxidizer is exhausted. Some of the gases like chlorine and nitrogen dioxide causes an explosion when present along with a combustible gas. It thus becomes necessary to analyze the environment where the fire had occurred for various organic, inorganic & toxic gases. Uniphos understands these needs and is committed to work with the fire brigade industry to provide a solution – the Uniphos Fire brigade Kit, which not only helps determine the cause of fire, but also helps to identify the resulting hazardous gases generated during the fire.
